Asian arowana (Scleropages formosus), is a species of freshwater fish from Southeast Asia. This fish has a long body; anal fin is located far behind the body. Asian arowana usually have a silvery color. Asian arowana is also called "Dragon Fish" because it is often linked with a dragon from Chinese mythology. Asian arowana is a species native to the rivers of Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia. There are four varieties of colors that are in locations: Green, found in Indonesia, Vietnam, Burma, Thailand, and Malaysia Gold with a red tail, is found in Indonesia Gold, found in Malaysia Red, found in Indonesia
Arowana are freshwater bony fish of the family Osteoglossidae, also known as bonytongues.Arwana actually includes an ancient fish that has yet extinct. Many of the names attached to it, including fish siluk, fish heaven, kalikasi fish, and fish humpAsian arowana is registered in the list of endangered species status of "endangered" by the IUCN in 2004. This number of species are declining due to frequent trading due to the high value as aquarium fish, mainly by the Asian community.
